Eyes Down to support BlindAid as 2023 Charity Of The Year
We are thrilled to reveal that our 2023 Charity of the Year is BlindAid.
What does BlindAid do?
BlindAid has been in existence since 1834 and is London’s oldest sight loss charity – providing support for isolated blind and visually impaired adults across the last 189 years.
This small charity offers community-based services – all free at the point of use – which are aimed at reducing social isolation, increasing independence and improving the confidence levels of their beneficiaries.
BlindAid supports around 1200 people every year via a combination of their Sight Support Service (which offers outreach support); a Community Project that offers classes in accessible IT, safe cooking and healthy eating, yoga, art and creative writing; a volunteer service called Share London which enables beneficiaries to access and enjoy their local communities and a grants programme that provides items to aid independent living.

We are thrilled to have been awarded Charity of The Year by Eyes Down Digital. As a small charity, having an opportunity such as this helps raise even greater awareness of the work that we do. The support that Stuart and the team have already provided has been invaluable and we are incredibly grateful. Charlie McClelland, Head of Fundraising, BlindAid.
About the Eyes Down Charity of the Year award
The Eyes Down Charity of the Year is selected annually and provides the winning charity with a host of digital marketing benefits. These include a user experience workshop, free support and development, a 20% reduction in our fees for 12 months and support via our newsletter and social media channels.
The Eyes Down Charity of the Year is open to small and medium sized charities and the winner is chosen based on the positive impact we feel we can make for the charity over the next 12 months.
I am proud to be working with BlindAid and to be helping them improve the quality of life for blind and visually impaired people in London. We were drawn to BlindAid as they directly help around 1000 blind and visually impaired people per year with home visits. This direct human interaction is more important than ever in our post-covid society. Stuart Palmer, Founder, Eyes Down Digital
Our work with BlindAid
We are super-excited about working with BlindAid over the next year and our plans include:
- Improving the donation user experience to increase donation revenue.
- Integrating their website with Donorfy CRM.
- Advanced Google Analytics configuration and donor attribution modelling so that donations can be tracked on a granular level.
- Creating a framework which can be used to measure the performance of the website.
- Moving their website to a sustainable hosting solution.
- Other website improvements and strategic advice.
